Moving company

Do NOT use. On our scheduled move we were rescheduled 5 times within the same day as ‘no show’ was throughout the day. Upon showing late in the evening we were required to exit our home no later than midnight…..it was 10:00 p.m. before loaded and ready to move. We then had to clean the home we were leaving. Unprofessional and the team even argued amongst themselves. They did deliver to our new home but the crew, again, unprofessional. Upon final delivery and as we tallied damages a settlement was agreed upon. However, we were told by the accounting department and even the manager after weeks of calls, with no correspondence, the “check was in the mail”. Check never showed. After hiring a lawyer, they even responded to our lawyer that the “check was in the mail”. Compensation for damages, which was significant, was never acquired. I would not use nor recommend these folks for any moving services.

Do not trust this company.

- [ ] Unfortunately, I’m having to write this review in order to deter others from trusting this company to move or store your belongings. When I first hired this company in 2018, I was pleased with the service and one of their movers convinced me to move my household into their storage facility rather than the one I had previously lined up. I dropped by the companies address about a month after they moved our stuff into their unit..I was told our belongings were in crates and I would need to make an appointment to get to my things..I tried two other occasions to set an appointment but, wasn’t able to see my things. When I moved this June, I called them and scheduled to have them deliver my stuff to my new place and I was also going to have some items moved to a storage. They asked that I came by the new storage facility and go though my things to determine if they were mine or someone else’s because, they apparently mixed my items with another customers and I needed to verify which items belonged to me. They did not have all my things..I was missing quit a bit..
- [ ] Bar stool
- [ ] Stainless steel Fridge
- [ ] 6ft santa Santa
- [ ] Christmas decorations
- [ ] Twin bed
- [ ] Daughters boxes from her room
- [ ] Queen bed frame
- [ ] Boxes from my craft room
- [ ] Towels
- [ ] Lamps
- [ ] Mirrors
- [ ] Legs for ottoman
- [ ] Garland stairs
- [ ] Garland around door
- [ ] 7 ft Candy canes
- [ ] Tree topper
- [ ] Boxes that I went though at the warehouse were not delivered and are missing. Several of my glassware was broken. Since, it’s been a year, I’m sure there are items I don’t remember that are actually missing.
- [ ] I did have a king Louis Armoire that is from late 1800’s-early 1900’s that both of the hand carved front feet were broken. When I saw this I was told that their furniture repair man would be out the following week to repair it..I never heard from him and called D Town movers and was told they would contact him to schedule the repair. I called their office several times asking where my other items were and they told me they would eventually get around going through the other crates and wanted me to send photos of my belongings..however, on the day of my move I was told they would be getting my missing items the next day and would be delivering them. I’ve called to speak to the owner on several different occasions and haven’t received one phone call back. Do not trust this company if you value your belongings. I worked hard to purchase the items in my home only to have them break, misplace or steal my processions. I will attach photos of missing items and my antique armoire that they broke.

D Town Movers are the worst

DO NOT USE D-TOWN MOVERS they damaged and broke most of my items they loaded. Items were thrown in the truck with no organization. I lost 750.00. It took them 6 hours to do a 3 hour job. They did not load all that they said and i am still paying for the storage they were to empty. Their people are not skilled movers and are lazy. I will post photos on Youtube about this nightmare experience. I use them on January 23, 2021 Bad ghetto service. I called the owner after they completed the left and he said he would get the left items shipped to me. I never heard from him again. The Job?: move three side by side storage units on to a semi-truck 50 feet away.

Bad Service.

I DO NOT recommend using D-Town Movers. We moved in September and this was our third time using them. Their staff has changed and they are no longer an honest company. They did not send the right crew as requested and when they brought an extra person out to help, he ended up being a thug and after an incident at our house, I nearly had to call the sheriff out to have him removed. (Later found out from owner he had trouble with this worker the prior weekend with another customer as well. Dangerous!) Then they over charged us for the move and we have talked to the owner at least a half dozen times trying to get the overcharged amount returned to us and we still do not have a check. It's been four months and their inconsiderate lack of effort to make things right is pathetic!

Do Not Use.

Received a very inaccurate quote for 3 bedrooms on a 26 ft. truck. I ended up renting a 17 ft. U Haul that was packed to complete the move. I'm 70 years old. They knew it wasn't going to fit when they started. Kept asking for a tip, broke a table and said it could be 90 days before it was resolved. I have to initiate every request for info. Want to get ripped off, hire these guys!

Worst Movers Ever!!

This was my first time using their service for an apartment move that was right across the street from my current apt now. They damaged my wood furniture, damaged two television lost a back couch cushion, and damaged a wall at my new apartment. Over two months after the damages were done they finial made me an offer to settle my claim for around $300.00 . I declined this offer, and will be taking them to court. PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS MOVING SERVICE!!

Beware.

D-Town Movers
2900 Jesters Ct Plano, TX 75074

On 6/1/19, I hired D-Town movers to move furniture and appliances from our home to an apartment (less than 10 miles away). After delivery, while the movers were still present, I inspected the furniture and found that most of the items were damaged, some severely. I immediately contacted the owner, Edward, who stated that he would have his “wood specialist” contact me to schedule a time to come out to assess the damage. I informed him that there was damage to a leather couch, my washer and dryer and to a stainless refrigerator that a “wood specialist” would not be able to repair. He stated that those would all be addressed but that in order to proceed, I must pay the moving charge in full. I told him I wanted to paid half until the issues were resolved, but he stated it must be paid in full. I reluctantly paid the movers and they left.
The next day I contacted the “wood specialist” myself to schedule a time to come to assess the damage. On the day of the appointment, a few minutes before our scheduled appointment, I received a text message informing me that the he was not able to keep the appointment because the owner, Edward, would not authorize him to come and assess the damage. I immediately contacted Edward who informed me that the issue would be addressed but that he needed a damage claim form to be completed first. He also requested photos of the damage. During that same phone conversation, I also informed his that his movers had taken a large fabric tarp that I had just purchased and that I wanted that tarp returned or to be compensated for the replacement cost of the tarp ($30).
On 6/5, I emailed the completed claim form, along with photos of the damages. I also noted the stolen tarp in my email.
On 6/10, I received an email response from D-Town movers that “Household goods carriers have 90 days from the receipt of a claim to pay, decline to pay, or make a firm settlement offer in writing, to a claimant.”
Over the next 89 days, I attempted to contact Edward over 20+ times (phone calls, text messages and emails). I was never able to speak directly to Edward and all texts and emails receive no response and all messages requesting Edward return my call were ignored.
On day 90, I made another call to Edward. This time I was able to speak with him and he assured me that he would be scheduling the appointment for the “wood specialist” to come out.
Since then, I have made several more attempts to speak with Edward to get this issue resolved. I have been able to get Edward on the phone 3 times. Each time he stated he was scheduling time for the “wood specialist” to come out and would return my phone call. I have never received any calls from him.
It is now day 116 and I am no closer to getting my furniture repairs or receiving compensation for the damages.

No response, late arriving

I used D-Town movers back in October. The first team was 3&1/2 hours late and did not finish the simple 1 bedroom move. Another team came the next day and were much better. They commented that the move should not have taken the first team so many hours. I contacted the manager Edward to discuss a rate or hourly compensation. He never responded to my 4 requests. I understand people have bad days, it is how it is taken care of that matters.

Very disappointed that after the fact, no response was received.

Storage unit move to new apartment

To say I was less than satisfied with this company would be an insult to those

truly LESS than satisfied. My move was simple. Load a 10x10 storage unit and move it to my new apartment. I called to confirm twice and was told the pick up window was 3pm - 6pm. Fine. Moving day arrive and I receive a call at 5pm. that the truck is on its way. My elderly parents who had been waiting at storage received a call at 7:30 from the crew in Mansfield saying they are on their way. My storage is in Plano at least one hour way!. I called the driver and said please hurry my girlfriend was stuck in my empty apartment. I was upset and angry but never lost my temper. They NEVER SHOWED UP!!!. I called the next morning to straighten things up and they told me my 76 year old proper British had been belligerent with the driver. I've never heard my mother raise her voice in my life. I was told my business wasn't wanted. I still haven't received my deposit back. Unbelievable!!!
